Coping with sleep deprivation

I've never been a big sleeper, I don't sleep in the day. And that's part of the problem, because you need to sleep when the baby sleeps, but I'm a little bit full on during the day. But when it comes to the night I'm absolutely shattered, about now I'm quite tired, and it's 3.30pm. Another thing that I find quite hard is that you don't have your nights free - you put your baby down and you're waiting for that cry at 10 o'clock for another feed. You then have to move into the bedroom, because it's quieter, so you can't watch your favourite programmes. What I'm going to try to do is try to get into a pattern of having a little kip during the day and I think that will help me out.
