Cutting teeth is just rubbish. William has spent most of this week in tears chewing away on his fists, dribbling and having horrid nappies. Basically, he's having a shocker and he's too little to be remotely bothered with a teething ring.
Over coffee this morning, my friend Juliette revealed her favourite product - Sophie the Giraffe (or should I say Sophie la Girafe - she's French). Born in France in 1961, little rubber Sophie is soft and flexible and designed for squeezing and chewing. William's eyes lit up and he went straight in for a nibble. I don't blame him - she's far more appealing than a ring.
