Jeanette Turner, 48 and daughter Nina Rogers, 30, both from Redditch, were this week sentenced to 20 months in jail after pleading guilty to production of drugs.
Police raided Turner's home on 25 January this year and found hydroponic equipment and five cannabis plants. At a similar raid at Rogers' house they found cannabis cuttings worth up to £1,500 in a bedroom cupboard.
Turner reportedly said she was in debt and needed the cash.
Lawyers for the Defence argued that both women had no previous convictions and did not understand the gravity of the offense however Judge Christopher Plunkett, presiding over the case, said anyone caught producing drugs would always be remanded in custody.
