A housewife was left bleeding heavily on a trolley in a hospital corridor for four hours as she miscarried.
Joanne Chiswell has told how she suffered the indignity and trauma of losing her baby in full view of passers-by because the hospital was understaffed and did not have a bed.
The paramedics who had accompanied the 29-year-old even begged nurses to help.
But they were reduced to holding up a blanket to give Miss Chiswell, who was covered in the blood, at least some privacy.
The Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, has now apologised for not giving the mother of four the ‘best care possible’.
