The child was just one of 74 under the age of 17 to have been treated at the hospital for drug or alcohol misuse over the past five years.
Fifty-six were admitted for ‘acute intoxication’ while others were treated for the effects of cannabis or nicotine.
Two 12-year-olds and eight 13-year-olds were among those treated for drunkenness.
One 12-year-old was even treated for alcohol dependence and addiction to painkillers and cannabis.
The figures were released by Croydon University Hospital in South London yesterday in response to a freedom of information request.
