John Travolta’s wife Kelly Preston says she suffered through a silent birth so it would give her son Benjamin peace of mind in the future.
The scientologist explained her muted pain followed the teachings of the religion’s founder L. Ron Hubbard.
‘Silent birth is basically just no words, as much as possible. If you need to moan, if you cry out, you know, all of that, of course that’s normal,’ said the 48-year-old, who had her baby in November.
The mum of three, whose oldest son, Jett, died from a seizure two years ago, aged 16, says she has no doubt the delivery technique works after praising her peaceful offspring.
‘My kids have always been amazing. Just very calm, very peaceful, happy and I absolutely know it’s very much because of that,’ she told the US Today show.
