A 23-year-old New Yorker has enraged readers after admitting on Business Insider that she became a serial dater on Match.com simply to avoid the costs of eating out.
Courting men on the dating site, the broke Manhattanite ate out five nights a week, with some keen Wall Street bankers stumping up for $200 bottles of champagne on dates.
As dishonest as it may have been, the lifestyle choice saw Jessica Sporty save $500 on a month on food alone and $1,200 a month in total, says the news site.
