Birth of Britain’s biggest baby Posted by Emma

From Made For Mums
October 13, 2011

We bet the stork would have struggled with this one. Brave new mum Rose Hall endured a nine-hour labour to give birth to Zachari Huxtable, who weighed a whopping 13lb 11oz!

The plucky mum opted only to have gas and air throughout the birth of her two-foot long record breaker, who was 6 lb 3oz above the average weight for newborn boys.

The relieved (and we imagine exhausted!) mum gushed, “He is perfect no matter his size.” Also she said she was just pleased he “came out healthy”. On behalf of all mums, we salute you!

Jo Tantum, author of Baby Secrets, explains how to tell if your baby is the right height and weight.
