A CHINESE restaurant refused a girl of 11 its child price as she was too tall.

A sign in the window declared the discount only applied to youngsters under 4ft 6ins – and Charlotte Kingfisher-Bradshaw is 5ft 3in. She had to pay the full rate of £6.30 for a buffet last week instead of £4.15.

Mum Heather, 43, said: “I was absolutely furious – she is obviously a child.”

But Yin Hoang, of Mao Buffet, Chatham, Kent, said: “The rules are clear.”

Trading standards said no rules had been broken.
