Mummy’s boys and Daddy’s girls Posted by Emma

We thought it would be fun to survey 3,000 mums of children aged three to 16 to discover the names of children who are most likely to favour mum’s attention over dads. We found that other boys likely to have mum wrapped her round their little finger are Alexander, Max, Finlay and Oliver - children bearing these monikers being more likely to run to mum when they hurt themselves, confide in her when they are upset, and typically run to her for the final say.

Bounty’s Lisa Penney says: “Boys can love their dads dearly, but it is natural to run to mum as they can be the ones who are a bit softer on their sons. The relationship with dad can be just as strong and special, but more playful rather than one of safety and comfort.”

Our report also shows that little boys called Charlie, Ethan and Lucas are also more likely to be mollycoddled by mum, and awarded lots of attention with ‘mummy’s boys’ sharing more kisses and cuddles with mum and are more likely to turn on the tears with her knowing they’ll get a quick response.

Mummy Rambles son Monty is definitely a mummy's boy - he even lets her paint his toenails!

Do you have a mummy's boy? Were you a daddy's girl growing up? Do you think your name had anything to do with this or is it just natural for boys to love their mums?
