Originally from Northern Ireland Dee moved to England (omg that's nearly 20 years ago) and apart from a few years in France has been here ever since. She's married to a very tolerant and understanding husband (thank the lord) and together they have one daughter Lily who is coming up on two. She'd very much like another one but didn't have the best pregnancy last time round so has been dragging her heels with the constant tick tock (she's nearly 37) in the background...
1. What’s the best bit about being a Mum?
Most definitely the comedy value. Lily makes me laugh every single day and having something so fantastic to share with my husband is a constant joy.
2. What’s the most challenging bit about being a Mum?
Managing my temper when she is losing hers. It's my greatest fear that I will lose it in front of her and lash out. But I have a fantastic counsellor I see from time to time who really helps me on this one.
3. What are your guilty tv and food pleasures?
There are too many to mention. It's has been said that my sister and I would watch a turd rotate on a stick... I love tv and watch it indiscriminately. At the moment its Brothers and Sisters - its just like Dallas with totally implausible characters and plot lines love it! And food wise - it has to be KFC - esp because they don't ban you for wearing pyjamas when you go there...
4. What’s your idea of perfect happiness?
The right amount of work and the right amount of time to do it in so I can spend more time with my friends and family (ideally somewhere hot).
5. What annoying habit drives you mad?
Things that are started and not finished, politicans who play lip service just to get a vote and crumbles on the worktop.
6. Who’s your secret celebrity crush?
Oh dear - its Nick from the Apprentice - I do not know what that says about me - but it can't be good.
7. If money were no object what would be your daily extravagance?
A housekeeper - and never having to do laundry again.
8. If you could change one thing about the world what would it be?
That people truly have the freedom and choice to be who they want to be.
9. What’s your theme song?
Take your parachute and jump by Something Happens.
10. What is your motto/favourite phrase?
Now just one last thing..... or I'll only be five minutes.
