Mum to 3 grown-up girls and grandmother to a 2 year old girl - we're a very female family! I stayed at home to look after all my children, before working in a variety of jobs including nursing and dressmaking. I've just sold my two family companies and am enjoying retirement with my beloved horse, Ben.

1. What’s the best bit about being a Mum?
The absolutely fabulous feeling when you pick your child up and hold them close.

2. What’s the most challenging bit about being a Mum?
Getting it 'right'.

3. What are your guilty tv and food pleasures?
CSI and mars bars.

4. What’s your idea of perfect happiness?
A spring morning riding my horse, followed by a family lunch.

5. What annoying habit drives you mad?
When people don't listen.

6. Who’s your secret celebrity crush?
Andrew Castle.

7. If money were no object what would be your daily extravagance?
I'd have 2 - a facial and having my hair done.

8. If you could change one thing about the world what would it be?
It would be better if people were less money-oriented and spent more time on building relationships.
