Mummy from the Heart…
http://www.mdplife.blogspot.comHi, I’m Michelle. Wife to one, mummy to three, blogging provides a space to be me. I write an honest and sometimes raw blog about my family life, including parenting joys and challenges, raising twins, having an eating disorder, being an imperfect Christian and my struggle to find balance between work and home. Generally a cheery place my blog will get you thinking about how lucky you are in life.
1.What’s your blog about?
My family’s life; the good, the bad and the ugly.
2. When and why did you start writing your blog?
I started to write my blog back in early 2008 on a whim, it quickly became dormant and I resurrected it in early 2009 and have not looked back.
3. How long do you spend blogging and what do you enjoy?
Oh my, do I have to admit this? I probably spend about 10 - 15 hours a week doing all things bloggy. I love to write articles, read other blogs, chat to and help blogging friends and particularly to help inspire new blog writers.
4. What have been your blogging highs and low, triumphs or disasters?
I hit a low early in my blogging journey, back in February 2010 I realized I had allowed my blog too become too important in my head and I took a 6 week break for Lent, this really helped me to put things in perspective. A recent high has been being shortlisted for the best blog in the family life category of the MAD blog awards.
5. Is blogging a job or a hobby? What would be the ideal outcome?
Definitely a hobby for me, but one which I love and that brings some super benefits.
6. How easy is it to set up a blog – and have you any tips for newbies.
Setting up a blog is so easy; there is an abundance of platforms and help available all for no cost. My top tip would be to be yourself, find your voice and use it. Never try to imitate another blogger, we all have something special and unique to offer.
