Actually Mummy

http://www.actuallymummy.co.uk

I am a seven-year-old girl with a mind of my own. I am led to believe that my intelligence is inherited from my parents, but having lived with them for some time I think it is fairly safe to say that I am one of a kind, and that they are from a different planet. I like pink stuff, reading books, designing dresses, and eating lemon sorbet. I am an enthusiastic sharer of my opinions, which include how to deal with common ‘parenting’ issues, and the administration of school matters. Oh, and quite a bit about Ipads...

Mummy says...

1.What’s your blog about?
My blog is a Mummy blog with a twist: it is inspired by my daughter, and written in her voice, with some of her words, and her opinions. There is a reason why it has the strapline: The Diary of a Loquacious Schoolgirl!

2. When and why did you start writing your blog?
It began in March 2011 with a nightmare. I had been struggling to keep up with a handwritten diary for my children, so was considering a blog instead. Then one night both my children had nightmares, and the ensuing conversations became my first blog post.

3. How long do you spend blogging and what do you enjoy?
I write nearly every day, and I have been known to write, tweet, facebook, or read up on blogging tips right through the day and evening without eating. I am often still at my laptop into the early hours. I love writing, and I am fascinated by the social media scene. There is so much to learn I find it difficult to stop!

4. What have been your blogging highs and low, triumphs or disasters?
It is easy to get down when you have worked really hard on a post, and it just doesn’t gel with anyone. But then I can dash off a post in minutes and it gets a huge response, which is always a thrill. No disasters yet, but watch this space!

5. Is blogging a job or a hobby? What would be the ideal outcome?
I love to blog and I would do so anyway without the income. However, if my passion can work for someone else’s business and become my full-time job I would be thrilled.

6. How easy is it to set up a blog – and have you any tips for newbies.
Really easy! I use Wordpress and have a great friend who set up the website for me, but it has been very easy to use. I don’t use Blogger but I hear that is even simpler, with no need for hosting and very simple guidelines for getting the best out of your blog. Here is a good resource to help you get started: Getting started on Wordpress.
