Madhouse Family Reviews
http://madhousefamilyreviews.blogspot.com/Teacher of teens, married to a Frenchman and mum to 3 bilingual under 10's. We split our time between England and France. I love reading, cooking, crafts and blogging and get the kids involved with all of those as often as possible. I'm often to be found nattering on twitter or adding reviews, giveaways, parenting advice and recipes to the blog so come and say hello!
1.What’s your blog about?
Everything related to being a parent – product reviews, giveaways, recipes and parenting advice.
2. When and why did you start writing your blog?
I already had a family blog, called Welcome To The Madhouse, but when I was pregnant with Pierre (in 2009), I decided to branch out and create Madhouse Family Reviews. I'd already been writing book reviews on amazon and publishers' websites so decided to create my own place to keep them all together.
3. How long do you spend blogging and what do you enjoy?
I try to get a couple of blogposts up every day because a lot of people tell me they read my daily digest on the way to work ! I love all the feedback and the community spirit amongst bloggers.
4. What have been your blogging highs and low, triumphs or disasters?
Being picked as big brand ambassadors, such as Graco and Morphy Richards, is great, as is receiving comments and emails from authors who've read my book reviews – I'm always amazed they've found my humble little blog ! No lows so far, fingers crossed!
5. Is blogging a job or a hobby? What would be the ideal outcome?
Definitely a hobby – it has to fit in around my job and family – but my evenings blogging in front of the telly have become my me-time routine. I'd just a few extra hours in the day to fit it all in!
6. How easy is it to set up a blog – and have you any tips for newbies.
Dead easy, if you use a site like Blogger and try not to get too perfectionist. My advice is, don't get too wrapped up in checking site stats and don't expect it all to happen overnight. It takes time to build up a readership and a reputation.
