Mummy and the Beastie
http://www.mummyandthebeastie.co.uk/My name is Hannah and I am a married Mum of one little boy with another bundle on the way. I enjoy the juggling act of working part time as a nurse and being a Mum. I love the days off I have to spend with my son, although I feel there is never enough time in the week for both! We are all looking forward to the adventures of a family of four...
1.What’s your blog about?
It is about being a Mum to a toddler, whilst working part time and now also about my
second pregnancy. It’s a combination of my views, photography, general issues and
reviews. I would also like to create more of a focus on health aspects (due to
profession).
2. When and why did you start writing your blog?
I started in February 2011 and started a blog after stumbling across some Mummy
blogs and researching further I decided I would like to get involved. My husband and I
were also looking into starting a business and thought a blog would be a good platform
to start with first and go from there.
3. How long do you spend blogging and what do you enjoy?
I don’t spend as much time as I would like but I take time out of my 2 days off a week
and blog in at the weekends too (around my son of course!)
4. What have been your blogging highs and low, triumphs or disasters?
The highs are being involved in such a friendly community, attending Cybermummy and
having a great sense of achievement writing what I feel, when I feel and receiving
feedback. The lows are when I feel I have nothing to write about and sometimes it can
appear no one is reading your posts! The first few months are a test and I think it you
make it over some of the hurdles past 6 months you will keep going and get more and
more confident.
5. Is blogging a job or a hobby? What would be the ideal outcome?
Blogging is a hobby for me at the moment but I would love for it to develop into more. I
enjoy meeting other bloggers at events, seeking out new products and providing
feedback on my blog. I would love to represent a brand.
6. How easy is it to set up a blog – and have you any tips for newbies.
I started my blog on blogger originally and I found the platform very user friendly, even
for beginners. I have however had lots of help from my husband who is a whizz with
computers and he also designed and created my blogs. The best tips I have is to join up
and interact on BritMums to gain readership and make friends and secondly join
twitter, it’s a lifeline!
